Complex Tax Credit & Incentive Matters: What Your Business Needs to Know

    The Problem:

The US tax code is so broad and complex that no primary firm can stay current on all aspects, AND companies end up paying more taxes than they should when nuanced & complex credits/incentives are not attained.

Georgia Jobs & Opportunity Zone Credits

Georgia is the #1-ranked state for opportunity zone credits for businesses for the last seven years. There are over 40 state and local tax credits available to Georgia-based businesses.

The most aggressive and lucrative tax credits available are jobs credits: the Georgia Job Tax Credit and Quality Job Tax Credit programs. These tax credit programs allow companies to offset 100% of their state withholding tax liability.

Recognizing the rapid economic development potential for Georgia businesses, CTA now offers full-service expertise in computing and substantiating these opportunity zone credit and jobs credits incentives.

The Atlanta office of CTA has added two state and local tax credit experts with over 20 years of experience to help Georgia businesses in obtaining these tax credits.

    GA Jobs Credits

    Georgia Retraining Tax Credits

Georgia Retraining Tax Credits represent a strategic incentive program aimed at fostering economic growth and workforce development within the state. This initiative encourages businesses to invest in employee training and skill development by offering tax credits to offset incurred costs. By leveraging these credits, companies not only contribute to the professional development of their workforce but also position themselves favorably in Georgia’s dynamic business landscape, fostering a symbiotic relationship between corporate success and the advancement of skilled labor.

Benefits include up to $1,250 per employee for training provided to existing employees for any new technology (software and hardware) upgrades, additions, or replacements to your business.

    Georgia Job Tax Credits

Georgia businesses located in a tax incentive zone can qualify to receive up to $3,500 per qualified job, per year, for five years. This totals up to $17,500 per qualified job. Qualifying for the Job Tax Credit allows the business to apply for an additional $500 to $1,750 in bonus tax credits per year, for five years.

    • Joint Development Authority Tax Credit Bonus โ€“ Businesses that earn the Job Tax Credits can qualify to receive an additional $500 per qualified job per year for the next five years if the business is located in a county with a Joint Development Authority.
    • Port Activity Tax Credit Bonus โ€“ Businesses that earn the Job Tax Credits and also import/export through the port of Savannah may qualify to receive an additional $1,250 tax credit bonus on top of the Job Tax Credit and Joint Development Authority Tax Credit Bonus.

    Georgia Quality Job Tax Credits

Georgia businesses that are creating high paying jobs can receive up to $5,000 per job per year for 7 years, totaling up to $35,000 per qualified job.

Founder & CEO Mike Woeber Talks CTA Culture & How We Partner with Accounting Firms to Ensure Amazing Results for Clients

“I spent 24 years in public accounting…and during that time, I saw a need for very specialized services. Things that you would think a CPA firm would do, but they are not really staffed up for or have the right personnel to do….We want our employees to do two things:

We want them to do a very defendable and solid credit incentive delivered to the client.

And we also want them to be sure the client is happy while we do it.”
