Ray is an experienced professional in the Research and Development Tax Credit industry. Ray’s vast experience includes working with high tech manufacturing firms including aerospace, medical, oil and gas services, metal & plastics fabrication as well many other high-tech manufacturers. He has also worked with Software Developers, Civil, Structural, MEP, and Architectural firms. He specializes in Civil Engineering with an emphasis on infrastructure design and has over 30 years of experience with Architecture, Civil Engineering, Land Planning/Development, Land Surveying, Environmental Engineering, Construction, Geotechnical Engineering, and Traffic design.
Ray has a Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering/Construction Management from Park University and was an engineering teacher at the Army Corps of Engineer Schools at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri. Ray has worked with private Civil Engineering firms as a Design Engineer on multiple public works infrastructure projects, private developments, commercial sites and buildings, state highways/roads and bridges giving him an edge to understanding the details that go along with Engineering.
In Ray’s spare time he serves as the Western U.S. Representative for the World Boxing Federation, a role in which he collaborates with world boxing promoters and boxers interested in competing for World Boxing Federation Titles, as well as refereeing, supervising and documenting scheduled title fights while ensuring fair play and safety for the athletes.
Martin is a native of Huntsville, Alabama; he graduated from the University of Alabama in Huntsville with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, Accounting major. Experienced in corporate accounting with a global, publicly traded company as well as small business accounting, Martin is currently a Research and Development Consultant with CTA in Huntsville, AL. In his free time, he enjoys occasionally working on cars, tinkering with computers, hiking, and photography.
Originally from Scranton, Pennsylvania, Alicia graduated from Keystone College with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting with a concentration in Finance. She has 10 years of accounting experience, which consists of 7 years of automotive accounting. In her free time, Alicia enjoys spending time with her family, friends, and most importantly her daughter, traveling, and being outdoors.
Ashley Durand is a skilled tax and accounting professional. For the past eight years she has offered tax compliance and planning services to small business and high net-worth families. She also serves as a data migration specialist, managing and analyzing large databases of financial data and customer information. Ashley earned a BS in Accounting at College of Charleston, and an MS in Accounting at Suffolk University in Boston. She went on to earn a CPA in 2015. After work, Ashley enjoys cooking, being in nature, and spending time with family.
Heather received her B.S in Animal Science- Science and Technology from the University of Tennessee. She has enjoyed working as an office manager and licensed veterinary technician for a veterinary clinic for the last 10 years. Her previous work with clients and staff has developed interpersonal relationship skills that will allow her to provide outstanding support to our clients. She resides in Toney, Alabama with her husband and two kids where they enjoy family movie and game nights, playing at the park with their dogs and all things hockey.
Beth joins CTA as the newest member of the business development team. She comes with 4 years of experience working in the AEC industry, formerly as Director of Sales and Media with Zweig Group. Her previous client experiences are what developed her keen ability to seek out companies in need of the valuable services she offers. Beth is a graduate of the University of Arkansas with an Associate’s Degree in Journalism. Beth resides in the beautiful Ozark Mountains of Northwest Arkansas, in Fayetteville with her husband and four boys. She enjoys biking and running the outdoor trails, cheering on the Razorbacks, floating the Buffalo river and getting lost in a good book on her hammock with a locally brewed beer.
Sam Hyon is a Senior Manager at CTA where he manages the operations of the State and Local Tax Division. Sam offers over 7 years of experience in State and Local Tax, and over 15 years of experience in accountancy. Sam has helped over a hundred mid-sized to fortune 100 companies with State and Local Tax management. Sam graduated from the University of California, Irvine, and majored in Computer Science, and his favorite hobby is cooking.
Vikki has had over 12 years of public accounting tax experience with KPMG LLP and Grant Thornton providing tax compliance and advisory services to a variety of businesses. For the last 10 years, Vikki has specialized in serving small, large, and mid-sized companies to help them identify, quantify, and substantiate Research and Development Tax Credits.
Her experience with the R&D Tax Credit includes Architect and Engineering firms, manufacturers of chemical products, oil and gas products, oil and gas exploration research, production, robotics manufacturers, construction equipment manufacturing, and software development for advertising, manufacturing, and banking, as well as internal-use software for manufacturing, airline, and retail companies.
Vikki is a Certified Public Accountant in the state of Texas, and received her B.S. in Accounting from the University of Texas at Dallas.
Nicolle is originally from Utah, she graduated from Western Governors University with a bachelor’s degree in Accounting. She has 6 years of experience in property tax, accounts receivable and accounts payable. In her spare time, Nicolle enjoys traveling, being outdoors and spending time with her family.
Haley graduated from the University of Alabama in Huntsville with a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting. She currently has 4 years of accounting experience that includes sales tax auditing and was an Accounting Manager for a global food services company. Haley is currently working towards her Master in Business Administration with a concentration in Project Management. In her spare time, she enjoys being outdoors and spending time with her family.
Lydia graduated from Texas Tech University with a dual Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Accounting and Finance. She worked 5 years at Ernst & Young in their downtown Dallas, TX branch. Lydia is currently a Research and Development Project Manager for CTA in Huntsville, Alabama. She is also a Special Enrolled Agent, licensed by the U.S. Treasury to practice before the Internal Revenue Service in all of our nation’s tax arenas.
Gary has over 30 years combined experience with large corporations and a Big Four CPA firm. He has experience in financial analysis, acquisitions, accounting, auditing, management reporting, and tax issues, including work on R&D tax credits as large as $2M per tax year. Gary is a CPA in Alabama, after starting his career as a CPA with KPMG in St. Louis. He graduated from Bentley University with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting.
Ian (Mac) MacGregor graduated from Humboldt State University with a Bachelor’s degree in Geosciences with a minor in Rangeland Resources. He currently works as a Junior Engineer for CTA out of the Los Angeles, Ca office. In Mac’s free time you can find him on an outdoor adventure, rock climbing, or building computers.
John Park is a Senior Manager at CTA. John specializes in Job Tax Credit, Retraining Tax Credit, and Quality Job Tax Credit of the State & Local Tax Division. John offers over 11 years of experience in State and Local Tax in California and Georgia. John has helped hundreds of mid-sized to Fortune 100 companies save millions of tax dollars over the last decade. John graduated from the University of California, Riverside, and majored in Economics, and he enjoys outdoor activities with his wife.
Sara graduated from the University of Alabama in Huntsville with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, major Federal Contract Accounting. She has 6 years of accounting experience, which consists of two years of tax/small business accounting and four years of corporate accounting. Sara is currently a R&D Consultant at CTA in Huntsville, AL. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family, dogs, and friends.
Hannah, native to northeast Alabama, graduated from the University of Alabama in Huntsville with her Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, major Accounting. She has 7 years of experience in corporate accounting, including her most recent experience in a publicly traded Fortune 500 company. Hannah is currently a Research and Development Consultant for CTA in Huntsville, Alabama. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her family, watching her daughter learn and grow, travelling, and cooking.
Michael Royster was born and raised in Montgomery, AL. He holds a Civil Engineering degree from the University of Alabama in Huntsville. He currently lives in Cullman, AL with his wife and son. He has worked in a wide variety of engineering fields including Polymer/Automotive Manufacturing, International Space Station Payload Operation, and Oil and Gas. Michael is currently an engineer for CTA in Huntsville, AL. When not at work, Michael enjoys being outside with his wife and son, coaching CrossFit and is an active member in his church.
Jeremy studied Accounting at the University of Alabama in Huntsville, where he completed his undergraduate degree. He has eight years of experience in the public and private accounting sectors, with experience in corporate and individual tax, managerial accounting, and forensic accounting. Jeremy is currently taking on Project Management responsibilities for CTA. In his spare time, he enjoys spending time with his family, involvement in the music and arts community, hunting, and hiking.
Paula has ten years of experience in Human Resources and Office Administration. She attended Florida State University, graduating with a degree in Human Resource Management. She then worked for non-profit agencies, overseeing their employment needs, as well as coordinating procurement, before joining CTA. In her free time, she has volunteered with local schools and Girl Scouts, and enjoys baking and Tae-Bo.
