Ray is an experienced professional in the Research and Development Tax Credit industry. Ray’s vast experience includes working with high tech manufacturing firms including aerospace, medical, oil and gas services, metal & plastics fabrication as well many other high-tech manufacturers. He has also worked with Software Developers, Civil, Structural, MEP, and Architectural firms. He specializes in Civil Engineering with an emphasis on infrastructure design and has over 30 years of experience with Architecture, Civil Engineering, Land Planning/Development, Land Surveying, Environmental Engineering, Construction, Geotechnical Engineering, and Traffic design.
Ray has a Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering/Construction Management from Park University and was an engineering teacher at the Army Corps of Engineer Schools at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri. Ray has worked with private Civil Engineering firms as a Design Engineer on multiple public works infrastructure projects, private developments, commercial sites and buildings, state highways/roads and bridges giving him an edge to understanding the details that go along with Engineering.
In Ray’s spare time he serves as the Western U.S. Representative for the World Boxing Federation, a role in which he collaborates with world boxing promoters and boxers interested in competing for World Boxing Federation Titles, as well as refereeing, supervising and documenting scheduled title fights while ensuring fair play and safety for the athletes.
Jessica has over 11 years of experience in tax controversy. She worked as an Estate and Gift Tax Attorney at the IRS before moving into private practice representing companies and individuals in front of the IRS and various state taxing authorities. Jessica holds a Masters of Law in Taxation from the Strum College of Law, University of Denver.
Lydia graduated from Texas Tech University with a dual Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Accounting and Finance. She worked 5 years at Ernst & Young in their downtown Dallas, TX branch. Lydia is currently a Research and Development Project Manager for CTA in Huntsville, Alabama. She is also a Special Enrolled Agent, licensed by the U.S. Treasury to practice before the Internal Revenue Service in all of our nation’s tax arenas.
Sam Hyon is a Senior Manager at CTA where he manages the operations of the State and Local Tax Division. Sam offers over 7 years of experience in State and Local Tax, and over 15 years of experience in accountancy. Sam has helped over a hundred mid-sized to fortune 100 companies with State and Local Tax management. Sam graduated from the University of California, Irvine, and majored in Computer Science, and his favorite hobby is cooking.
Vikki has had over 12 years of public accounting tax experience with KPMG LLP and Grant Thornton providing tax compliance and advisory services to a variety of businesses. For the last 10 years, Vikki has specialized in serving small, large, and mid-sized companies to help them identify, quantify, and substantiate Research and Development Tax Credits.
Her experience with the R&D Tax Credit includes Architect and Engineering firms, manufacturers of chemical products, oil and gas products, oil and gas exploration research, production, robotics manufacturers, construction equipment manufacturing, and software development for advertising, manufacturing, and banking, as well as internal-use software for manufacturing, airline, and retail companies.
Vikki is a Certified Public Accountant in the state of Texas, and received her B.S. in Accounting from the University of Texas at Dallas.
Haley graduated from the University of Alabama in Huntsville with a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting. She currently has 4 years of accounting experience that includes sales tax auditing and was an Accounting Manager for a global food services company. Haley is currently working towards her Master in Business Administration with a concentration in Project Management. In her spare time, she enjoys being outdoors and spending time with her family.
Gary has over 30 years combined experience with large corporations and a Big Four CPA firm. He has experience in financial analysis, acquisitions, accounting, auditing, management reporting, and tax issues, including work on R&D tax credits as large as $2M per tax year. Gary is a CPA in Alabama, after starting his career as a CPA with KPMG in St. Louis. He graduated from Bentley University with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting.
John Park is a Senior Manager at CTA. John specializes in Job Tax Credit, Retraining Tax Credit, and Quality Job Tax Credit of the State & Local Tax Division. John offers over 11 years of experience in State and Local Tax in California and Georgia. John has helped hundreds of mid-sized to Fortune 100 companies save millions of tax dollars over the last decade. John graduated from the University of California, Riverside, and majored in Economics, and he enjoys outdoor activities with his wife.
Hannah, native to northeast Alabama, graduated from the University of Alabama in Huntsville with her Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, major Accounting. She has 7 years of experience in corporate accounting, including her most recent experience in a publicly traded Fortune 500 company. Hannah is currently a Research and Development Consultant for CTA in Huntsville, Alabama. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her family, watching her daughter learn and grow, travelling, and cooking.
Michael Royster was born and raised in Montgomery, AL. He holds a Civil Engineering degree from the University of Alabama in Huntsville. He currently lives in Cullman, AL with his wife and son. He has worked in a wide variety of engineering fields including Polymer/Automotive Manufacturing, International Space Station Payload Operation, and Oil and Gas. Michael is currently an engineer for CTA in Huntsville, AL. When not at work, Michael enjoys being outside with his wife and son, coaching CrossFit and is an active member in his church.
Jeremy studied Accounting at the University of Alabama in Huntsville, where he completed his undergraduate degree. He has eight years of experience in the public and private accounting sectors, with experience in corporate and individual tax, managerial accounting, and forensic accounting. Jeremy is currently taking on Project Management responsibilities for CTA. In his spare time, he enjoys spending time with his family, involvement in the music and arts community, hunting, and hiking.
Cameron graduated from Samford University with a Bachelor of Music Education. For the past 11 years she has combined her creativity and education skills to assist clients in multiple ways, buying and selling real estate for 6 years. In the last 5 years she has worked with businesses to secure their assets through security, access control, and video surveillance. Therefore, it was a natural transition to continue helping businesses secure more of their time and monies through federal research and development tax incentives. She is passionate about seeing businesses succeed! In her spare time, she is active in her church, raising two boys, writing her blog, and playing music.
Paula has ten years of experience in Human Resources and Office Administration. She attended Florida State University, graduating with a degree in Human Resource Management. She then worked for non-profit agencies, overseeing their employment needs, as well as coordinating procurement, before joining CTA. In her free time, she has volunteered with local schools and Girl Scouts, and enjoys baking and Tae-Bo.
